Here Lives Feed2JS…
Feed2JS was IS a service that ran for 10 years, created in 2003 by Alan Levine, originally when he was working at the Maricopa Community Colleges, and later moved to a hosted service. It is was ending as of May 28 2013, for reasons explained.
The current server will be shut down by the end of May, 2013 (most likely May 30, the end of the billing cycle, but I will be canceling the server on May 28).
I CANNOT KILL THIS THING, THE ZOMBIE LIVES!
Thanks to a generous offer from web host Brian Teller, who wants no big banner credit, Feed2JS has a new server home that he will manage. The free service lives on! Give Brian a big round of applause.
Here’s what you should think about if you still want to DIY your own Feed2JS.
- Look at switching to another service which provides the same or similar functionality.
- If you manage your own server, it runs PHP,and you can upload a few files to it, you can run your own personal version of the service. Full details on how to download and install Feed2JS on your own web site are available at the github code site, including options to limit its use to sites you designate.
- Another option to run a version of Feed2JS on Amazon’s Elastic Cloud.

Alan,
I understand the burden of running a large service (even beyond monetary restraints).
I’d be interested in partnering with you to help run the servers (on my network) or take over the network completely from you if that’s what your looking for. Either way I just would hate to see this resource go by the wayside. Maybe it does need updated, and a good team of programmers could help in that effort. Regardless I think its a valuable service to many people. With your blessing i’d love to keep it going. I’d love for you to even stay involved, but again that’s all your decision. If this is something you’d be interested in please contact me via email.
At the very least I think we can donate some server/bandwidth resources to keep the service up until you decide your ultimate plan with the project.

Would I be able to keep feed2js alive by purchasing the site from you? I’d like to keep the service as is without charging a fee or puttings ads on anyone’s feeds. I don’t have much money but would really like to be a part of such a nice and successful service. Please lmk, ty.
